Carter Septic Dewatering Facility
Carter Septic Dewatering Facility
Project Value: $705,000
Contract Type: Construction Management
Project Type: Industrial
Location: Moncton, NB
Description:
The construction features a 3200 sq. ft. wood-framed building, used as a private sewage dewatering facility. This is only the second private facility in New Brunswick. Throughout the process flow, the sewage taken from septic tanks is run through a screen and aerated tanks. It is then brought back into the building where polymers are added before the sludge and liquids run through a cycle in the standalone drum. This is where the water and liquid are separated, and the final part of the dewatering process takes place. The water is then placed into the city’s sanitary system and the remaining solids are brought to a waste management service. Acadian was contracted in the conceptual phase to lead the project through the pre-design, design, and construction phases of this project. Several meetings were required with the city of Moncton to ensure an environmentally friendly construction with the proper sanitary metering in place.
