The Homarus Center is truly a multi-use facility, strategically located next to the world’s largest lobster in Shediac, the Homarus Center includes a visitor centre, a souvenir store, public washrooms for visitors, offices and primarily a research center for the lobster species. One of its main focuses is to ensure the sustainability of the lobster industry and the lobsters themselves. The project is a wood frame building and features laboratories, round windows exposed to heavy timber, a green roof, a giant custom fabricated concrete lobster shaped tank, electric vehicle charging stations, a theatre building with reclaimed wood features, and energy efficient lighting and ventilation systems.
